My Baby Scooter
My baby Scooter came to me as a vicious dog that was to be put down.
My friend brought him to me in the hopes I would adopt him.
When the car pulled up. all I could see was a black nose sticking up on the floor in back.
I opened the door and picked my baby up and kissed him. It was instant love for both of us.
For seven years Scoo was my shadow. I could do anything to Scoo and he never bite me.
I went through the death of my son nine years ago. Scoo seem to sense I was upset and depressed. A dog can be your best friend in times of need. As you know dog spelled backwards is God.... I hope I do see him again at the end of the rainbow bridge. .God Bless you Scooter. Bless all of you that lost your family member.

this might help ... just a little!
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

when i lost my beloved shadow, a member of my depression support group sent me the above writing, and it has helped me a lot since then, dealing with too many losses. just imagining such a reunion upon my passing makes me smile - it truly does!

Appreciating My Pet Even More Here and Now
About half a year back, my cat was acting up and bit and obviously having a difficult time using his litter box.
I took him to the vet and found out he had struvites, which was quite easy to deal with through diet.
Unfortunately, we did discover during this diagnosis, that he also has a congenital kidney condition which will likely claim him earlier than later.
Today, no matter how much cat hair I pluck from my fleece nor how many additional pulls I find in my carpets, I appreciate his unique, curious, and lovable personality each and every day that much more.
He's come a long way from the terrorized cat taken off the streets. And, he's brought me along just as much in different ways. I'm thankful he's along for the ride with me. And, I'm still holding out hope it will be for many more years that I could have imagined half a year ago.
